diamondweddingdress.jpgJeweler Martin Katz and dressmaker Renee Strauss teamed up to create the most expensive wedding dress on record, featuring a stunning 150 carats worth of diamonds laced throughout the dress. The veil that is shown in the picture worn with the dress does sparkle, but it does not feature diamonds. Instead, the veil has some pretty rhinestones. But we figure, if you’re doing to drop $12 million on a dress, why not just have someone custom create a matching, diamond-laced veil? And while you’re at it, get some fancy diamond-studded shoes to add to the bling factor!

The dress hasn’t yet been sold, so if you’ve got your eye on it (as well as the $12 mil), Strauss and Katz would be more than willing to discuss a sale. Unlike other wedding dresses, this one will still have a high resale value after the wedding.

To see just how magnificent this dress is, check out the up-close photo after the break!

  4. […] The world’s most expensive wedding gown was unveiled at the premier Luxury Brands Lifestyle Bridal show in February of 2006. Later in the year, Dubai’s Fashion & Diamonds show also featured a gown touted as the world’s most expensive wedding dress. Yumi Katsura’s design, however, is only valued at $8.5 million. Despite being only the second most expensive wedding dress, it features 1,000 pearls and one of the world’s only two 5 carat white gold diamonds. (Courtesy of The Diamond Blog). Posted by admin […]

I dont think that wedding dress is beautiful enough, veil the does not match w/ the traje de boda. Im sorry but in my own opinion the veil sucks it destroys the beauty of the gown and the diamonds.Simplicity is beauty they said.

wow thats a BEAUTIFUL dress!!! you guys who are putting bad comments on here are just jealous that YOU can’t buy anything this pretty for yourselves, and will never be able to so if your just going to sit here and put mean comments then don’t look at the dress at all.

The dress is beautiful…but I wouldn’t pay that price for a gown I’m wearing once in my life.

I love the dress part, but I think that the veil is too puffy.

the wedding dress is totally ugly. the veil is hideous and makes me want to throw up. i agree, simplicity is beauty. who in their right mind would pay 12 million for a dress that looks like that. I mean, sure there is prob some celeb that would, but come on. we (the non celebs) totally out number the celebs, so you need to make affordable gowns that look a lot better than this, especially if you want to sell them.

well… to be honest i think it is too much of a good thing…
i mean, what girl doesnt love her diamonds? i know i do… but i think this has been created as somewhat as a novelty… i would never be nasty about this dress because it is incredible to look at… but i dont think that it is beautiful… more of a showpiece…
i think that the shape is lovely, especially along the top line but less diamonds… a lot less would be more tasteful and more intriguing… x

Can we say ridiculous?! This dress (forget the price) is absolutely RIDICULOUS! Gag me and then some! Who would wear, let alone design, such a hideous catastrophe. The dress sags due to the weight of the diamonds, is overly decorated, and flares awkwardly. As for being jealous, Jessa, look that word up in the dictionary. It doesn’t apply. If you still think it does, pick up the phone and get yourself an appointment with a good eye doctor. You may need glasses. After all of this you still find the dress to be beautiful, you may want to find yourself a decent mental institution because you’re f***ing crazy! Anyway, I too think this is a fake. If not, I feel personally offended by the good waste of all those beautiful diamonds.

i don’t think this dress is all that great, expect the fact that it has diamonds on it… my was so much less, but still was so beautiful. On such a special day, it’s not the dress that counts, it’s the bride that is the most beautiful…
